2020 Presidents Opening Message

Thank you all for attending today's meeting. I am very thankful for taking on the role of President for the 2020 year. 

 

Our previous president, Deval Chandarana, and her team has done a wonderful job over the last year providing the community with wonderful events and memories. 

 

My goal as president this year is to continue this momentum into the future and listen to our community to provide them with different types of events and attract our younger members. 

 

I would like to introduce the 2020 committee for this year:

 

VP - Deval Chandarana

Treasurer – Sahil Radia (interim)

Secretary – Swadha Kotecha

Committee Members – Amar Gadhia and Hetal Kara

 

As was mentioned earlier today, we made a healthy profit last year thanks to everyone’s support financially and by coming out and supporting us at all of our events. The plan is to use some of the profits towards our Diwali Dinner which is still a loss making event and towards expanding our Ladies Event as well.

 

Last year our Youth Event was unsuccessful, however we are working on a unique event which Deval will briefly speak to.

 

Prior to the AGM we did send out a remind that we are still looking for members to join our committee, we are looking to replace Sahil Radia who has kindly offered to stay on until we find a replacement for his role.

 

This year we are also trying a different set up for events by having more sub committees which will hopefuly give more community members exposure to our events one by one so they can get a taste of what it’s like being a part of our team.
